PREVOST MEMORIAL

Prevost Memorial Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital – a designation given to certain rural hospitals by the U.S. Government that is designed to help keep rural hospitals open and improve access to healthcare by keeping essential services in rural communities. To qualify, hospitals must be:

  • Small (25 or fewer acute care inpatient beds).
  • Rural (located a significant distance from another hospital),
  • Serve patients that do not require long stays in the hospital, and
  • Open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to provide emergency care services
