Job Title:  Registered Nurse

Location:  Donaldsonville, LA

Job Summary:

Prescribes, delegates, coordinates and evaluates the delivery of patient care activities through the hospital during the assigned shift. The RN is responsible for the supervision and management of all nursing personnel, and in addition, assumes some administrative duties in the absence of the Director of Nurses.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of nursing

 

Experience Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure in Louisiana
  • Current BLS/ACLS (or within 90 days of employment) is desirable
  • Preferred Med-Sur / ER experience

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Ability to integrate nursing theory into practice using the nursing process
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general medical, surgical, and emergency theory and practice for all age groups is desirable
  • Understanding of management skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve, plan and organize
  • Ability to work independently and in teams

Physical Requirements:

  • Heavy lifting and moving of patients is required
  • Must be able to see and hear patient’s physical condition for data collection
  • Ability to assume awkward positions, such as bending and twisting, in emergency situations
  • Must be able to vary work schedule for extended hours and work effectively in stressful situations
  • Recognizes the position presents occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens
  • Physical stamina for prolonged walking and standing

Supervised by: Director of Nurses

Supervision given: All nursing personnel assigned to shift
